Download MatchFetch

MatchFetch uses a two-part system for your privacy and security. The Chrome extension helps you securely authenticate with your Ancestry account, allowing the Windows desktop app to access and download your DNA match data. The desktop app then generates a private JSON file for advanced, local analysis. You need both components for the full experience.

Chrome Extension

Step 1: Securely connect your Ancestry account. The Chrome extension helps you authenticate—no passwords or sensitive info are ever stored or sent to external servers. It does not extract or export your match data itself.

  • Secure Ancestry authentication
  • Enables desktop app access
  • Private, local processing
  • No data extraction in extension
Install from Chrome Web Store

Windows Desktop App

Step 2: Use the Windows desktop app to fetch your DNA match data from Ancestry (after authenticating with the extension). The app generates a private JSON file for you to save and analyze—all processing happens locally on your computer for maximum privacy and control.

  • Fetches match data from Ancestry
  • Exports JSON data for analysis
  • Advanced filtering & sorting
  • Offline, private data processing

Why Two Components?

The Chrome extension never stores your Ancestry credentials or sends them to any server. It only helps you authenticate, so the desktop app can securely access and download your match data for analysis—keeping everything private and on your device.

How It Works

1

Install Both Components

Download and install the MatchFetch Chrome extension and Windows desktop app. Both are required for secure, private analysis of your Ancestry DNA matches.

2

Authenticate with Ancestry

Use the Chrome extension to securely authenticate with your Ancestry account. The extension does not extract or export your match data—it only enables the desktop app to access your data securely.

3

Fetch & Analyze Your Data

In the Windows desktop app, fetch your DNA match data from Ancestry (using the authentication from the extension). The app generates a private JSON file for you to save and analyze—no data ever leaves your device.

4

Explore Powerful Insights

Use advanced filtering, sorting, and visualization tools in the desktop app to discover detailed match information, regional breakdowns, DNA journey communities, and more—all with complete privacy.
